A.T.T.I.C. Children's Ministry Environments

We are committed to carrying out our values to drive our mission through various environments on Sundays. The bible (God’s perfect word) is the foundation of what we focus on in our church environments. The bible was written to reveal God, his plan to redeem mankind to himself, and to reveal who we are apart from him. In all our environments we focus on God and who he is. True life change is in knowledge of Christ and his greatness (Ephesians 4:12-14; II Peter 1:8). Check out the Challenge to Parents on Biblical Discipleship document (at the bottom of this page) for an outline of Pastor Jonathan’s challenge to get children into the word of God.

Below is a brief description of the environments we offer for children to engage in.

Sunday Mornings

10:30-12:00

Nursery (Birth – 2 years old)

  • Meet on the basement level
  • Engage in age appropriate

Preschool (Birth – 5 year olds)

  • Meet on the basement level
  • Engage in age appropriate Bible lessons

Elementary (6 -12 year olds)

  • All elementary age children start out sitting with parents in the singing portion of the worship service and are dismissed to go with Pastor Jonathan to their worship time. All other ages need to be dropped off before the main service starts.

*We use many different learning styles to teach God’s character including: story telling, scripture reading, skits, puppets, visuals, videos, music, etc.

Sunday Nights

6:00-7:30

Our Sunday night environment is our way of really getting parents involved in the discipleship of their children. This environment is offered for 4 years old – 12th grade. We start out combining with ATTIC Student Ministry (6-12th grades) to do praise and worship in the ATTIC room in the gym. We then break out in separate age groups and the children go down stairs in the training room. Parents that have children of all age groups are encouraged to jump full force into children’s ministry on Sunday nights.

In ages 4-5th grade this environment really drives our values of “Spending Time with God” and “Talking to God”. Our focus during this environment is to engage parents in the discipleship of their children each week. The children involved in this environment all are working through Word of Life Quiet Time books. These are age appropriate devotional books that get children into the word each day. Parents are encouraged to come alongside their children and get into the Bible together. Through the Quiet Time books a child will read through most all the major portions of the Bible in 6 years. Each book has age appropriate application questions and an activity to get the children thinking. During the Sunday night environment we focus on review of what God has been teaching the children and we focus on scripture memory. This environment also is filled with fun games and rewards for those who have been faithful in Bible reading and scripture memory.
