Our Core Values: Are the same as our church, just teaching and applying them in a younger atmosphere
- Intimacy with God- This is imperative for a GROWING believer in Christ. Without growth one cannot have intimacy. Who is God? Who is Christ? Who is the Holy Spirit? And who am I now that he lives in me.
- Application: study God’s word which is where he has laid out his nature, love, wrath, glory and all truth. It is truth which brings understanding. We communicate with God in all things not just when we need a rescue. We want to help equip parents in this as well.
- Prayer-We pray as a way of communication with our Creator about life. The barrier has been broken for the believer. We talk directly with God.
- Application: We can pray to God at anytime, anyplace. Prayer can be formal or informal, but always respectful. We pray individually as well as in small groups for one another or for one particular individual.
- Christ-like relationships-As believer’s in Christ we are a family. We were created to be united in one spirit for the purpose of living out Christ. Any one we have relations with we are to edify one another. We are to be held accountable as well as hold one another accountable for kingdom living. We also must bear with one another through times of weakness, sadness and all life’s trials. A relationship for a believer toward a non-believer is to be the likeness of Christ, his love, his mercy, his compassion, his grace.
- Application: We believe that who you hang out with can be influential to your life’s decisions. It is important and we encourage the students to seek out Christ-like relationships. We encourage the students to guard their minds and their hearts (with God’s word) by seeking friendships that we challenge them toward spirituality, not further away from Jesus. Faith is the key to all things we do in Christ. Without faith we cannot please God. We want to teach them to build friendships upon faith.
- Use our spirit-giftedness-God has given each believer a spiritual gift for the purpose of spiritual living. We all must use that gift for the body of Christ to function properly.
- Application: We will be teaching the students what spiritual gifts are according to God’s word. Then we will begin to encourage them to use their gifts.
- Share our grace stories-sharing about to time we first met Jesus and accepted the gift of salvation.
- Application: We want to encourage the students to share this time with each other to build the bond of faith and also share with others who may not know Jesus because we are to go out and share the gospel (the great commission)
