Johnny Larrabee

My parents have been many things throughout my life, Pastor, Evangelist, Missionaries, and Christian school teachers; and all of them have been in full-time Christian service. I grew up being involved in Christian service. I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was a teenager. I went to a Christian college after I finished high school and studied music and Bible. I have been married for fourteen years and we have one daughter. We love spending time outdoors (camping, hiking, going downtown, etc).

Since finishing college in 1991 I have been on an incredible journey. It is a journey of discovering and learning things that I could never learn in a classroom or in my parents shadow. I can summarize it in one word – SURRENDER. All of the education and experience in the world is useless unless it is surrendered to God. All of our efforts and plans are in vain and often times fail, as mine did, if they are planned and controlled by our wisdom. Once God brought me to the place of surrender in my life – surrender as a husband, father, and servant of God – was I truly able to be used of God. God was able to use my gifts for what He created them to be not what I wanted them to be.

It was this journey that led me to East North Street Church. I have continued to grow since my family and I came here two years ago. I believe that music is a vital part of worship. God is the creator of music and His whole purpose in creating it was for His glory. My goal is, not only to lead in worship on a weekly basis but to teach everyone what true worship is.

My Goal for East North Street Church is to see it outwardly focused in our community to reach the lost for Christ. The functions of the modern church often replace the Great Commission. We cannot allow that to happen in these last days.
